Incumbent Worker Training

The Midlands Workforce Development Board (MWDB) is now accepting applications for Incumbent Worker Training (IWT) program funds. 

 

The purpose of the IWT Program is to assist employers in training currently employed workers in an effort to keep businesses and workers competitive.  Private sector South Carolina employers located in Fairfield, Lexington, and Richland counties faced with changing skill requirements caused by new technology, retooling, new product lines, and/or new organizational structuring may be eligible for IWT assistance.  IWT funds are limited to skills-based training and require an employer matching contribution to the training project.

 

Interested employers should complete the attached IWT Program Funding Application (also available at www.midlandsworkforce.org) and submit a signed copy by the close of business on November 3, 2023, for priority consideration. Applications must be completed to be considered for funding (detailed course training descriptions for each piece of training must be attached to the application). Training may not occur before a grant award has been, and all required documents signed and approved Applications will be accepted electronically at
